Set at the quiet northern end of Jupiter Island, this modern residential house is shaped by its coastal surroundings, where low dunes and dense bands of sea grapes give way to distant views that gradually open toward the ocean. Rather than sitting apart from this landscape, the architecture is composed to move with it, aligning its spaces and volumes with the natural layers of the site.
Regulatory constraints along the eastern portion of the property require part of the structure to lift above grade, and this condition becomes a guiding principle for the design. Elevated volumes extend lightly over the landscape, allowing views to pass over the vegetation while creating a shifting profile that reduces the perceived mass of the home. The result is a composition that feels both grounded and elevated, responding directly to its environment.
At its center, an interior courtyard provides a moment of enclosure, offering an intentional contrast to the openness beyond. The house unfolds outward toward the west providing privacy for the guest areas. Between the guest house and the main house, a second-level terrace and pool overlook the dunes and provide a quieter vantage point where the courtyard becomes the primary focus.
The design remains restrained and deliberate, allowing proportion, light, and setting to define the experience. It is a house that settles into its context, measured in its gestures and closely attuned to the rhythms of the coast.
